Zurich, As It Was

I've been playing around with open government data lately and found something great: 270 historical photographs from the city of Zurich's public archive, showing the city around 1900.

So I built a small gallery around them. Nothing fancy — just the photos and a map to browse images by location. The idea was to let the images speak by themselves.

I'm always fascinated by old images. For me they are time machines. The site is in German, but it's mostly pictures, so it should be easy to navigate regardless of the language.
